IRIS COKEROFT

Goldcoast Chorus is under the direction of Iris Cokeroft who has had over 40 years experience singing and directing barbershop style music for women. Her international winning quartet, the Hurricane Honeys, became Queens of Harmony in 1967.

Iris was the director and founder of Suncoast Chorus in 1975 which consisted of over 100 women who met in Broward County. The chorus won first place in regional competition five times and competed in international, placing in the top one half of all participating choruses worldwide. Moving the chorus further south to Pinecrest, it was renamed Goldcoast Chorus and is reorganizing and rebuilding at the present time.
Iris is also a member of the Region 9 Music Faculty of Sweet Adelines.
